Manufacturing Plant
At Onida, we recognize that we can strengthen our competitive edge if we produce as much as possible from a given capacity at the lowest possible cost. We reduced the time it takes for a single color television to be produced from 20 seconds to 12 seconds and increased the capacity from 0.5 million to 1.2 million sets during the year under review.
Onida's principal assembly operations are conducted in a state-of-the-art plant at Wada, 80 kms from Mumbai. The uniquness is that all the facilities are under one roof which includes injection molding facility ,EPS,Auto insertion. In 2002-03, using the existing infrastructure, a decisive step forward was taken by entering into the manufacture of washing machines and air conditioners at the Wada factory. The latest addition of advanced line for LCD/LED assembly has the capacity to assemble 2000 LEDs per shift.
The manufacturing facilities further exteded in Uttarakhand recently, where Washing machine manufacturing is done. This is again a state of the art plant and includes injection molding and very advanced assembly line which has a capacity of assembling 1500 machines per shift. The third plant again is in Uttarakhand that caters for assembly of CTV,LCD and Air Conditioners.
Our network of 33 branch offices, 208 Customer Relation Center's and 41 depots across India ensures that Onida products are available on time across all markets.
